Crosses can be symbols of power or reminders of sacrifice, full of meaning or simply there for decorative purposes. Although I believe there are mysteries in this universe that may have it’s roots in the divine, I don’t ascribe to any particular faith. However, some of the greatest art and architecture in the world is based on or commission for, people who do.
All over the world people demonstrate their commitment to their faith through the work of artists and artisans be it painted candles, illustrated religious texts, clothing, art and statues. Owning these artifacts of faith are a comfort to a lot of people, it reminds them that are part of something bigger, or that there are things that they might not be able to understand but they accept anyway.
At its simplest form most faiths teach love, acceptance and compassion and faith in fellow human beings, no matter where their faith originates from.
