Artist Statement
"I'm an Edinburgh born digital photographer and artist specialising in creating dramatic images of the every day.
My influences range from art history to comic book and cinematic references where I aim to illustrate the beauty and drama of the everyday whilst letting the viewer form an attachment to the subject on an emotional or nostalgic level.
I use mobile technology to capture, edit and publish new work on social media and personal websites. Selected works are reproduced in photo and giclée print formats the largest to date was 5.5 feet wide by 2.5 feet tall."

Education & History
In the 90's I attended Edinburgh's Telford College where I studied art and design and completed HND Units in Design and Typography for print including photography, typographic magazine layout and advertising. During this time I discovered photography, however it was the advent of accessible digital photography and mobile post processing in the early 2000's that I really connected with.
I self taught on Adobe Photoshop during this time and by 2008 was producing work that wasn't pure photography or deemed a traditional art form. I persevered, honed my editing skills to produce more work and then posted work for sale via print on demand sites like Art.com and EasyART with varied results.
In 2014 I applied and was successfully accepted into Open Studios North Fife bringing a new audience to my work and showing that there was a place for creative photo editing in the local art scene. The work was well received and I've been a participating artist eversince.
I've gone on to exhibit in local shops, galleries and offices. I've also created bespoke images including portraiture, both human and animal, places and subjects that really chime with the viewer, making what on the surface seems like a generic image, personal.
I've worked on design and photography projects that have included logo and branding design, stationary and advertising, product photography and print projects. I've also collaborated with web designers to introduce improvements to the user experience on existing websites.
in 2020 I joined the Society of Scottish Artists (SSA) and in 2021 the work "Ray of Sunshine" was accepted into the online exhibition "Contemporary Figures"
In 2021 I've launched new ranges of single edition prints and unlimited edition prints.
In 2022 I moved back to Edinburgh and started looking for exhibition space for old work and opportunities to create and exhibit new single edition work.
In 2023 I created “A Sense of Place” an online walk through of older works that explore place and its varied meanings. Which, when combined with the physical work in a suitable location would allow the viewer to experience the works and find out more online, making it easier to enquire and purchase.
If you want to talk to me about a design or photography project or commission me for that one of a kind work let me know using the Contact Me section of the site where you can find all my socials and email.
