A scene that is common to many that commute into a city, however this shot really summed up the stillness of the day. The light breaking through the mist to illuminate the commuters who are lost in their devices.

In the days before hybrid working became an option for millions of people, commuting was the only way get to work. The rail commuter had to be prepared for last minute delays and cancellations, all sorts of weather and of course the idiosyncrasies of fellow travellers. I was one of those commuters and like me, many found it easier to block out the daily drudge with their devices, rather than interacting with their fellow humans.
Now commuting can be just a case of going from your bedroom to your kitchen table most days and less frequent trips to the office. For those who commute now, I wonder if the journey is more stimulating because of it’s infrequency?
