As an extension to their shop windows, some businesses understand the need to stand out. To be memorable in the minds of people passing by is one way to entice potential customers to their stores, use their services or look them up online.
The riot of red blooms, twigs and lights is part of a display from a hair salon in Edinburgh’s east end where the colourful frontages and lights of fast food restaurants across the road could overshadow the more demurely branded salon they face. To combat this, even when they are closed for the day, these lights stay on.
We humans do the same to impress, we alter our dress, change our hair and maybe add accessories or decorate our skin with tattoos or makeup. Theres nothing wrong with being showy and glamorous because it can allow you to feel great, will raise your confidence and that’s what others will remember you for.
